I am a researcher and Carnatic vocalist from Chennai, India. I hold a PhD in statistical physics from The Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai (Matscience).
Music: I have been learning music since the age of four and have been under the tutelage of Sangita Kalanidhi Dr. S. Sowmya and Dr. M. Srinivasan since the age of six. I am a B-High Grade artiste of All India Radio and have performed at many prestigious venues around the country. I also love teaching music.
Research: My interests span statistical physics, computational musicology, and anything in between. In non-equilibrium statistical physics, I gravitate towards problems which can be solved at least partially using analytical methods. I also use the combination of my rigorous training in science and music, to work on problems in the interdisciplinary field of computational musicology.
